I've been working in IT for [X] years, and for most of that time I was doing the same thing everyone else was doing — fixing computers, managing networks, and helping people get their devices talking to each other. Good work, but nothing that felt like it had a big impact.
Then I started automating my own home. Lights that turn on when I walk in. A thermostat that knows my schedule. A front door that locks itself at night. Things that sound small but make everyday life noticeably better. I got obsessed — and I realized most people want exactly this but have no idea where to start.
That's why I started Halliday Home Solutions. I specialize in Home Assistant — the open-source platform that puts you in control of your own home without depending on any single company's ecosystem. Everything I build is designed to be reliable, maintainable, and actually useful for the people living in the house.
I'm based in Albuquerque and serve the surrounding area. When you work with me, you work with me directly — not a dispatcher, not a franchise tech. Just someone who genuinely enjoys this work and takes it seriously.
